"Today" show host Dylan Dreyer has pulled back the curtain on her evolving domestic life, officially confirming that her divorce from her ex-husband, Brian Fichera, has been finalized. The 45-year-old television personality, who initially announced her separation from Fichera in July 2025 after 13 years of marriage, shared the personal milestone during a recent episode of her podcast, "The Parent Chat."

During the candid episode, Dreyer discussed her new living arrangement, revealing that her mother, Linda, has moved in to help her manage the household and care for her three young sons: Calvin, 9, Oliver, 6, and Russell, 4. The transition marks a significant chapter for the morning show star, who has spent the past several months adapting to single motherhood, a major real estate move to the suburbs, and a restructured family dynamic.

Reflecting on the daily demands of raising three boys on her own, Dreyer expressed profound gratitude for her mother’s ongoing presence and hands-on assistance. "I don’t know what I would do without having my mom here," Dreyer explained on the podcast. "I don’t think a couple years ago, my mom ever thought that she would be kinda living with me, emptying out backpacks, cleaning off the lunch boxes, and helping me run everybody around. But it is what it is, and now she’s here. And I honestly don’t know what I would do without her."

Although Linda maintains a permanent residence elsewhere, she spends extended periods—often lasting weeks or months at a time—embedded in Dreyer’s household. "I’m blessed that my mom is retired, and she can stay with me and kind of give up her life back home for a little while," Dreyer added.

Linda, who also chimed in during the podcast discussion, shared her perspective on the cross-country arrangement and the joys of spending time with her daughter and grandsons. "I enjoy being here. I love being there," Linda said. "I just kind of wish it wasn’t so far away so I could run home for another couple days here and there, but it’s a long distance and it’s not my favorite thing to fly."

According to Dreyer, the shared living space has unexpectedly brought the mother-daughter duo closer together. "I feel like we’ve gotten closer in the last couple of years," Dreyer noted. "I think you’ve been here for me in a way that I never would have asked you otherwise. But I needed you, and you stepped up to that, and you’re here to help me."

At the same time, Linda playfully pointed out her daughter’s relaxed approach to household organization, while expressing genuine admiration for how Dreyer manages to juggle her high-profile media career with full-time motherhood. "Sometimes I think maybe you take on too much," Linda remarked. "Like, you’re spread so thin sometimes. I don’t think I could have done something like that."

The revelation of Linda’s extended stay comes nearly a year after Dreyer made the major decision to leave city life behind. In November, the NBC personality followed in the footsteps of fellow "Today" show hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager by relocating from her urban residence to the suburbs, seeking a quieter environment and more space for her growing family.

Dreyer first addressed her marital separation publicly on November 5 during an appearance as a co-host on "Today With Jenna & Friends." During the broadcast, she provided insight into how her relationship with Fichera has evolved since they decided to end their marriage, emphasizing that they continue to maintain a close bond despite the romantic split.

"Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce," she shared during the segment. "That’s another story with a lot of wine and that’s a whole different thing, but either way, we’ve gotten to this place. And there’s something freeing, I think, for Brian and I where—whatever reasons, whatever broke in a marriage—you could either fix it if you can and ideally you would and you try, and you try to fix things. Or you accept that it’s broken and you take this new step forward."

Prior to confirming the finalization of their divorce and the details of her suburban relocation, Dreyer had hinted at the transition on social media. She previously posted images of her children posing for their first day of school outside of their new suburban home, which is framed by lush greenery, as well as a candid snapshot of the family sharing a meal surrounded by moving boxes.

The real estate journey leading up to the move was marked by several transitions. In November 2024, Dreyer and Fichera initially listed their former family residence—where they had been raising their three sons—with an asking price of $2.49 million. At the time, the couple kept private about their motivations for parting with the property, though Dreyer had previously mentioned that the family was beginning to outgrow the space, prompting speculation that they were searching for a larger footprint.

Just months later, in July 2025, Dreyer stunned fans and followers by announcing via an emotional Instagram statement that she and Fichera were ending their 13-year marriage. In an interesting twist in the property market, the couple temporarily removed the listing for their two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium shortly after announcing the split, before relisting the unit at a reduced price of $1.99 million. Property records indicate that Dreyer and Fichera purchased the condo in June 2016, just months before welcoming their eldest son, Calvin.

In addition to their previous city living arrangements, Dreyer and Fichera also own a scenic beach house in Point Lookout, New York, which they acquired in 2021 for $2.5 million.
