To bridge the gap over the Upper Tower and access the Roof of the Tower area where the boss lies in wait, players must locate and activate a hidden carpenter’s crane.

The Prison Tower itself is situated on the Paris Streets map, positioned directly north from the Gate to the Catacombs and branching westward. Although the majority of the tower invites open exploration, the specific doorway leading to the Roof of the Tower map remains frustratingly blocked. Overcoming this barrier requires unearthing clues left behind by the environment and utilizing the surrounding architecture.
Crucial intelligence regarding the blockade comes from a spirit residing on the western side of the Upper Tower segment. Reaching this entity requires traversing a hazardous route filled with environmental traps. Players must execute rapid wall-jumps to scale the vertical space, then swing toward a small platform tucked into the left corner of the room. A hidden "defense up" collectible can also be uncovered by breaking a nearby right-hand wall. From that vantage point, players must drop and time their whip precisely to propel themselves toward a purple anchor on the left, followed immediately by another anchor on the right.

Upon speaking with the spirit, players discover a sketch of the carpenter’s crane alongside instructions detailing the precise anchor that must be pulled to unlock the crane’s housing. However, interpreting the diagram on the map requires careful attention to the surrounding geography.
For players struggling to locate the apparatus after receiving the clue, the carpenter’s crane is situated in the northeastern section of the Prison Tower map. The journey begins by descending back to the lower levels of the tower and navigating to the same horizontal plane as the Mirror of Life room. Heading west and pausing just before re-entering the tower, players must utilize a purple anchor to launch themselves from the wall toward a yellow anchor. From there, swinging back toward the tower grants access to a higher purple anchor, which ultimately leads to a secure platform.

Positioned to the right of this platform is a vital yellow anchor. By deploying the whip to swing across, players will encounter a second yellow anchor distinguished by a wooden hexagon hovering above it. Interacting with this anchor by swinging from it three times triggers the mechanism that unblocks the door leading directly to the crane. Boarding the carpenter’s crane provides the final transit necessary to reach the high-altitude doorway, opening the path to the Roof of the Tower and the impending confrontation with the Warrior.
