HGTV star Christina Haack recently shared a heartwarming and smile-filled reunion with her second husband, British television host Ant Anstead, as the amicable co-parents came together to celebrate a special milestone at school with their 7-year-old son, Hudson London Anstead.
The family gathering was highlighted in a September 18 Instagram post shared by Anstead, which featured a heartfelt caption and a series of photographs capturing the trio—with a primary focus on young Hudson—during the school event.
"Our not so little boy celebrated his ‘marvelous me’ day at school with his class sharing special things about him," Anstead wrote in his post, adding directly to his son, "Hudzo we love you and we are so proud of you."
The doting father also elaborated on the unique classroom concept, explaining how much the experience meant to both the students and the attending parents. "Listening to the class talk about what a wonderful boy you are was special," he added, noting that Hudson naturally leaves a positive impression on everyone he encounters. "Hudzo impacts everyone he meets, and we already know it!"
Anstead’s documentation of the school day also included a lighthearted and appreciative shoutout to his former wife. "Oh and mum of course brought the class donuts for the win!" he wrote, a claim supported by a photograph showing the former couple’s son happily enjoying a sprinkled pastry.
The school celebration closely followed Hudson’s actual birthday festivities, which both parents commemorated with touching social media tributes earlier in the month. On September 6, Haack shared a dedicated post celebrating her son turning 7 years old, expressing deep affection for the young boy.
"My sweet boy, I adore you and your kind soul!" Haack wrote at the time. "Smart, adventurous, helpful, silly, and a full on Virgo when it comes to organization. I am so lucky to be your mama! We love you."
Anstead posted his own emotional tribute on the same day, accompanied by a slideshow-style video capturing various moments of Hudson growing up over the years. "Hudzo you were born with a light! An unmistakable GLOW around you!" Anstead wrote. "You shine with a beautiful blend of fun, cheekiness, love and so much kindness! You are an utterly brilliant boy and it is a privilege to watch you grow and thrive. I love being your father!"
Just three days after his birthday, Anstead revealed how Hudson celebrated with his peers through an Instagram Reel. The young boy enjoyed a pizza- and cupcake-fueled party at an Orange County Soccer Club game, where Hudson served as an "honorary captain" for the night and spent quality pitch time celebrating alongside 40 of his friends.
For Haack and Anstead—who married in 2018 and legally separated in 2020 before finalizing their divorce in 2021—these cooperative family moments mark a significant and positive shift in their dynamic. The former couple previously endured a nearly five-year feud characterized by a difficult divorce and high-profile custody battles, maintaining an acrimonious relationship until Haack’s marriage to her third husband, Josh Hall, came to an end. Haack and Hall were married from 2021 until their split in 2025.
In February 2025, Haack opened up about how her subsequent divorce unexpectedly helped heal her strained relationship with Anstead. "Ant and I split up when Hudson was 1, and now Hudson is 5. Between the time of his first birthday and, I would say, fifth birthday, we did not communicate a lot," Haack explained during an episode of the HGTV series "The Flip Off."
The dynamic between the former spouses shifted dramatically following a routine visit to Anstead’s home to pick up their son. "When I walked up to the door, he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years," she recalled. "And he just said, ‘I’m so sorry for everything that you’re going through and I’m here for you no matter what you need.’"
Haack added that the two had a long conversation afterward, leading them to mutually decide to "put all the BS aside and be good co-parents." The improved relationship even led to Anstead making an appearance on "The Flip Off," the HGTV show featuring Haack alongside her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and Tarek’s wife, Heather El Moussa.

The interior designer also shares a 16-year-old daughter, Taylor Reese El Moussa, and an 11-year-old son, Brayden James El Moussa, with her first husband and long-time co-star, Tarek El Moussa.
Haack and Tarek El Moussa maintain a close professional and personal relationship, frequently spending time together alongside their current partners. Tarek is married to Heather El Moussa, while Haack has been dating Christopher Larocca. The extended blended family recently traveled to Napa, California, to celebrate Heather’s birthday.
Meanwhile, Anstead has also moved forward in his personal life, maintaining a relationship with actress Renée Zellweger since 2021. The couple first met on the set of the television series "Celebrity IOU: Joyride" in April of that year, with news of their romance becoming public that June. By September 2021, the pair made their relationship Instagram official. In addition to young Hudson, Anstead shares two older children, Amelie Anstead and Archie Anstead, from his previous marriage to his first wife, Louise Storey.
