Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has officially reported a landmark third quarter for 2026, driven by consistent growth and robust consumer demand that culminated in near-record figures during the month of September. The Guangzhou-based automotive company continues to demonstrate resilience and upward trajectory after navigating a more challenging environment earlier in the calendar year.

XPENG Hits Record Deliveries

According to the latest delivery figures, XPENG handed over 41,256 electric vehicles to customers in September alone. This represents a solid 5.5% increase compared to the company’s performance in August, illustrating accelerating commercial momentum as the third quarter drew to a close. While the September deliveries marked a slight 0.8% decrease when measured against the same month in 2025, the broader quarterly picture highlights a more substantial rebound.

When evaluating the performance of the entire third quarter, XPENG achieved a notable 15% increase in deliveries on a quarter-over-quarter basis. Furthermore, quarterly deliveries ticked upward by 2% year-over-year, signaling that the company has successfully steadied its operations following a slower start to 2026. Cumulative sales for the first nine months of the year still reflect a 9.2% year-to-date decline, largely weighed down by the sluggish market conditions experienced during the opening quarters. However, the accelerating momentum witnessed over the summer and early autumn months suggests that the Guangzhou automaker is well-positioned to close out the year on much stronger footing.

XPENG Hits Record Deliveries

Beyond vehicle sales, XPENG’s broader corporate updates underscored its aggressive expansion in charging infrastructure, which remains a cornerstone of its long-term strategy in the competitive new energy vehicle market. As of September 30, 2026, the company’s proprietary, self-operated charging network in China has expanded to cover more than 430 cities. This extensive ecosystem now comprises over 4,000 individual charging stations. Within this network, more than 3,510 locations are designated as ultra-fast charging stations, collectively housing over 22,200 individual charging piles.

The expansion of this charging grid is not limited to mainland China. Demonstrating its continued push into regional and international markets, XPENG reached a major infrastructure milestone on September 15 by officially opening its very first X-Energy megawatt ultra-fast charging station in Hong Kong. This strategic deployment is designed to alleviate range anxiety for local EV owners and showcase the brand’s cutting-edge charging technology to a broader international audience.

XPENG Hits Record Deliveries

In tandem with its commercial growth and infrastructure expansion, XPENG highlighted the environmental impact of its expanding electric vehicle fleet. The company estimates that the electric vehicles it has manufactured and delivered from January through September 2026 will collectively reduce life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions by more than 4.14 million tons when compared to equivalent internal combustion engine vehicles. To put this substantial carbon reduction into perspective, the company noted that it is environmentally equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by 68.53 million young trees over a ten-year period.

As the final quarter of 2026 approaches, the combination of surging monthly sales, an expanding ultra-fast charging footprint, and solidifying quarterly gains indicates that the operational outlook for the Guangzhou-based EV enterprise is decidedly on the upswing.
