The newly listed shares of XRP-focused treasury company Evernorth Holdings made a notable entry into the public markets on Monday, jumping as much as 5% during their debut on the Nasdaq stock exchange, according to market data provided by Yahoo Finance.

The successful public market launch comes on the heels of major structural developments for the firm, which finalized a business combination with a special purpose acquisition company earlier in the month. Alongside its trading debut, Evernorth announced the appointment of former Coinbase Asset Management Co-Chief Investment Officer Hugo Jeandesboz as its new chief investment officer, signaling an aggressive push into professional treasury management and active digital asset strategies.

According to an announcement released on Monday, Jeandesboz will spearhead the company’s comprehensive treasury strategy. His responsibilities will encompass treasury allocation, liquidity management, and the active oversight and management of Evernorth’s substantial XRP holdings.

Evernorth’s core business model sets it apart through its active approach to digital asset deployment. Rather than merely holding tokens in passive cold storage, the company strategically utilizes its XRP holdings to generate additional income through decentralized finance, commonly known as DeFi, yield strategies. This approach allows the publicly traded entity to extract operational value and returns from its underlying treasury assets, merging traditional capital markets with the emerging architecture of decentralized finance.

The public listing is the culmination of a strategic corporate merger that cleared a critical hurdle earlier in October. On Oct. 2, shareholders of the blank-check firm Armada Acquisition Corp. II officially approved a plan to combine forces with Evernorth, paving the way for the company’s transition to the public markets. Through this transaction and subsequent capitalization, the company expects to hold an estimated 473 million XRP tokens. Based on current market valuations, those holdings are valued at roughly $657 million, a massive reserve that positions Evernorth as the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company in the world.

The debut on the Nasdaq occurs within the context of a dynamic cryptocurrency market where the underlying asset, XRP, continues to maintain a prominent position among major digital assets. According to data from Coingecko, XRP was recently changing hands at $1.39 per token, backed by significant market activity that saw $1.48 billion worth of the asset traded over the preceding 24-hour period. At this price level, XRP commands a total market capitalization of approximately $87.8 billion, cementing its status as the fifth-largest cryptocurrency by market value globally.

The integration of experienced institutional talent like Jeandesboz, combined with the immense liquidity afforded by a public Nasdaq listing, marks a significant milestone for corporate adoption of XRP. As Evernorth begins its journey as a publicly traded entity, market participants will closely watch how the firm navigates the intersection of traditional equity markets and decentralized yield-generation strategies in managing its multi-hundred-million-dollar digital asset treasury.
